Things To Do

The Cape Verde Islands have something for everyone so if you fancy taking a break from relaxing in the sun have a look at a few of the activities in Cape Verde.

Neptunus

It looks like a yellow submarine but Neptunus is a glass bottom boat. As you descend to the lower deck you can prepare yourself for a magical underwater experience.

Through the large viewing windows you can enjoy the underwater world of Cape Verde.

As you cruise round Santa Maria bay you will see all sorts of fish and turtles if your lucky.

You will also pass by a couple of shipwrecks. If it gets a bit stuffy down below you can relax on the upper deck and enjoy the sunshine.

Quad Biking

Quad biking in Cape Verde is a fun way to see the islands and in some cases the only way to get to those hidden beauty spots.

Quad biking excursions are available on Sal and Boa Vista.

Undulating dunes and vast streches of open sand make Boa Vista the ideal location for quad biking.

Guided tours are the recommended options and will take you to some of the best beaches on the island.

As roads are currently limited in Boa Vista quad biking is a way of seeing parts of  the island that others dont.

There are several agencies on Sal and Boa Vista that can arrange trips for you.

Turtle Watching Tours

The future of turtles in Cape Verde is not certain. SOS Tartarugas are trying to change this by working with the local community to help protect the islands turtles.

A guided tour with SOS Tartarugas will tell you all about the work they are doing to protect turtles and make islanders aware of their importance.

The guided walks are about 3km and last around 2 hours. The guide will take you to hatching sites and to see turtles being tagged for future observation.

If you want to do your bit, you can sponsor a turtle or nest on the island providing a donation to a very worthy cause.
